The clubhouse was rather small but adequate and the local pub provided some welcome bacon rolls. I was joined in my group by Neil and Neal and "Bandit" Paul Fitzell.
The course was flat compared to last weeks "mountain goat" terrain and in the front 9 Neal took full advantage having 5 pars and a birdie to amass 20 points by halfway but worried about a handicap cut, he faded on the back nine and finished with 36 points. Paul scored 17 points on the front nine but back to back birdies on the run in ensured he also finished with 36 points. Neil and myself were just spectators as the birdies and pars kept coming. Oh, and we had to listen all about it as well as they were still discussing their last shots as Neil was trying to play his! I think they both should have been fined more!
The course was in good condition with some undulating greens and tricky pin positions but some 150 yard markers would have been helpful!
Nearest the pin on the 6th was won by Captain Elect John Simson and by Gareth on the 17th. The 2's kitty was shared by John, Gareth and of course Neal.
Stableford result:
1st Paul Fitzell 36 pts, 2nd Neal Malone 36 pts 3rd Gareth 35 pts 4th Rob 32 pts 5th Dennis 30 pts 6th Neil 29 pts 7th Steve 29 pts 8th Dave C 28 pts 9th John 27 pts 10th Martin 27 pts 11th Paul Collins 27 pts and 12th Dave W 25 pts.
