I would like to thank you all for making it a wonderful night out.
It was great to see you all and your ladies again. Returning once again to the Windmill. It was like being at home with the family, a friendly atmosphere and jovial company to make for a good night. Once again I will thank the Windmill on your behalf, the good food and the fine service, even if we had a few hiccups here and there. and the staff thanked you for the gratuity you gave them at the end, my thanks to for your generosity.
In years past you have given so much to the charities the captains and society have sponsored, and this year is no exception as we raised £800 + for this years charity, The Horton Cardiac Rehab Centre. Alan presented a cheque to Marion Elliot and Lynn Schofield from the centre. I remember them both from my time there back in 2002, they haven't changed.
My congratulations to all the trophy winners this year. It was spread out well amongst the membership again just how it should be. The competitions were a close call, but with one or two winners leaping ahead at the last minute. Congratulations to all the winners and runners up, and yourselves for taking part.
My thanks to the committee for their help this year and David for his timeless effort on the handicaps over the years and Alan for leading us out nearly every week this year in spite not always feeling up to it, and thank you all for making it another great year for the society.
Sandra and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and pleasant Christmas, see you all at Brampton Heath on the 28th of December for our Christmas fixture which will be Patrick's first outing as captain for the new season.
